Job Description

The Work-Based Learning Instructor will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our educational community. Reporting to the Building Principals and collaborating closely with the Student Programs Supervisor, Director of Special Education, Director of Student Services, and all instructional staff, the Work-Based Learning Instructor will coordinate and deliver work-based learning programs that integrate academic learning with practical work experiences. This role involves collaborating with local businesses, community organizations, and other educational institutions to provide students with valuable hands-on learning experiences.

Starting Salary: $46,159 plus additional for education and experience

10 month position

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop and implement work-based learning programs that align with curriculum standards and industry requirements.

Coordinate with local businesses and community organizations to establish partnerships and secure work-based learning opportunities for students.

Monitor and evaluate student progress and performance in work-based learning placements.

Provide guidance and support to students in developing career skills and understanding workplace expectations.

Collaborate with other educators and administrators to integrate work-based learning into the overall educational program.

Maintain accurate records of student participation and progress in work-based learning activities.

Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to work-based learning programs.

Be visible and interact with students by being present in the hallways, classrooms, and other common areas.

The Work-Based Learning Instructor will possess the following minimum qualities, qualifications, skills, and/or abilities:

Proven people skills and is an effective communicator. The Work-Based Learning Instructor will be positive, approachable, and respectful of others.

Ability to build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.

Passion for helping students achieve their career goals and develop essential workplace skills.

Strong organizational skills.

A clear communicator in both oral and written language, including electronic communication.

Work collaboratively with other staff members, administrators, students, and parents.

Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Listens first.

Knowledge of New York State Education Department (NYSED) work-based learning guidelines and requirements.

Experience in career and technical education and coordinating work-based learning programming preferred.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate will have an appropriate NYS certification.
