ONC BOCES is seeking full-time School Psychologists.
As a School Psychologist, your primary responsibilities will include:
Psychological Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' academic, social, and emotional functioning to identify learning and behavioral challenges.
Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective IEPs tailored to meet the unique needs of students with special education requirements.
Crisis Intervention: Provide timely and appropriate interventions in response to crises affecting students, offering counseling and support to promote emotional well-being.
Consultation: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to address academic and behavioral concerns, offering guidance and evidence-based strategies to enhance student success.
Preventive Services: Design and implement programs and initiatives that focus on preventing behavioral and academic issues, fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.
Data Analysis: Utilize assessment data and other relevant information to analyze trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
Professional Development: Stay current with research and best practices in the field of school psychology, and actively participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Advocacy: Advocate for the mental health and well-being of all students, promoting a school culture that recognizes and values diversity and inclusivity.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, special education staff, and community resources, to provide comprehensive support for students.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and consultations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
2024—2025 school year:
Starting Base Salary: $46,159
Plus $525 per year of experience
Plus $45 per graduate credit
Plus $1,050 per master’s degree

Civil Service position candidates must be reachable on the existing eligibility list. If there is no mandated eligibility list, candidates will be considered for provisional appointment. Continued employment will be contingent on successfully passing the required examination and being reached on the eligibility list.
