The Distance Learning Coordinator will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our regional educational community. Salary: $75,000—$85,000

Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee the development and execution of distance learning programs, ensuring they meet institutional standards and goals.
Provides proactive leadership to engage all students, staff, and faculty in the delivery of distance and online learning to support the students' academic achievement and development.
Oversees and manages distance learning, online learning, telephone interconnect, virtual HSE, summer school, and tutoring.
Seek additional distance and online learning opportunities for students.
Oversees the maintenance and recommendations of Distance Learning equipment and programs
Coordinate tutoring services for homebound learners
Provide technical support and training to faculty, staff, and students on using online learning platforms effectively.
Facilitate, develop, and provide professional development to staff and faculty on distance and online learning opportunities.
Collect and analyze student performance and program effectiveness data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
Monitor the performance and progress of distance learning programs, making necessary improvements.
Foster relationships with community organizations and stakeholders to support and enhance distance learning initiatives.
Develop and manage the program budgets, ensuring cost-effective programming.
Coordinates and oversees the application process for grants and other funding opportunities

Civil Service Job Description:
Distinguishing Features of the Class: This is a professional position responsible for leadership, management and coordination of the Distance Learning Program. The program provides support to school districts in reaching their goals and objectives in all areas of distance learning including videoconferencing courses, online courses, learning management systems, virtual field trips, collaborations, and meetings. The work is performed under general supervision of the Director of Instructional Support Services. Supervision is exercised over the Distance Learning Specialist, Distance Learning Technician and clerical staff. Incumbent does related work as required.
Typical Work Activities (Illustrative Only):
Coordinates training as needed;
Facilitates videoconferencing course scheduling within the region and across the state;
Facilitate virtual field trips within the region;
Create and facilitate videoconference collaborations within the region and across the state;
Serves as liaison between participating schools, the community college, and technology/service providers for videoconferencing services;
Facilitates policy development and implementation to provide guidelines for distance learning program;
Facilitates and/or participates in meetings of committees as Program Leader, including Program Leader
Meetings and Instructional Support Advisory Meetings. Also attend BOCES Board of Education meetings, school district Board of Education meetings, district Faculty meetings, Cabinet meetings, and Principals’ Academy as requested;
Maintains liaison with appropriate local, regional, state and federal officials and organizations including higher education;
Develops and monitors the operational and management budget for the program and its activities so that efficient operation is maintained;
Coordinates activities related to managing and monitoring Distance Learning Grants or other funding.
Coordinates promotion and publicity of the distance learning program.
Prepares and submits all necessary reports to appropriate individuals;
Does related work as required.
